Issue: Most IDE upgrade drives are not compatible with the Performa 6200 logic board

Solution: no work around, external drive option only.

Details:
We can replace a failed drive with the same size drive from Apple as an exchange. Most aftermarket drive will not work and even larger Apple drives will not work. Apple tech support claims these older logic boards only support PIO mode 3 IDE drives and most new drives are mode 4 and are not backward compatible in this case.
